YIN YOGA
Focusing on mental and physical relaxation, yin yoga promotes the healthy flow of chi (energy) in the body through the connective tissue. Postures held for longer periods give practitioners the opportunity to observe and bring awareness to the breath and sensations in the body. Yin yoga enables the release of tension in key joints: ankles, bones, ligaments, deep fascia. Yin poses are passive, meaning the muscles should be relaxed and cool. Most positions are hold on the ground while gravity does the work. This class will help you to work on your flexibility and range of motion. The Yin practice is a wonderful compliment to a more yang practice, like surfing, snowboarding, freediving, diving or other more active activities.
